Tasting Notes
Black Queen is Taiwan’s century-old cherished sole red grape. Impromptu is our homage, season to season, vintage by vintage, to its myriad of invigorating flavors. The 2018 growing season was particular in that the grapes flourished steadily in a dry sunny Spring that continued well into Summer, and an early harvest was prompted by a typhoon arrival.
In the cellar, both old French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks were used for the first time. This wine begins by inviting your senses with rich plummy, red floral aromas. In the palate, green and black plums, red cherry, and grapefruit weave into succulent flavors with subtle herbal notes, thereafter a polished, mineral, savory quality lingers. This vintage expresses Black Queen’s depth through layered richness and textured finesse. Suggested serving at 12-15°C.

Tasting Notes
This wine has been in the making for three years. In 2017, specially later harvested grapes arrived from a small block, and this wine was born in a beautiful impromptu as we set out to find truths in our sole traditional red grape Black Queen.
Alluring aromas of plum, strawberry and raspberry carrying hints of citrus and herbs entice the palate. Fresh crisp acidity follows in a polished, mineral, savory quality, finishing brightly and vibrantly. These succulent flavors come together to reveal the grape’s layers of vivacity it is keen to share and celebrate.
